Notification LEDs

There are 2 LEDs that are not discussed in the online manual for the Droid 2. The one on the upper right has different colors and blink patterns, but I can't figure out what they are or mean.

There's a second little LED by the USB port. What does this one mean?

The LEDs on the top of the phone can be used by different apps for notifications (ex. Handscentsms uses different colors for different settings).

The one next to the usb is for notification of different hookups such as charging, debugging, and tethering.
