Notification Sound

For quite some time, my notification sound was "pixie dust". I'm now looking for a change from that sound, so I tried to change it to "facebook pop", but the notification sound is still the same! Every time I get a text, it still plays "pixie dust" even though the notification sound is changed to "facebook pop" in the sound settings. Help!

If you are using another messaging application, you would want to go through that messaging application's settings to change the message alert tone.

Try these steps:

Notification Ringtone

From the main screen, touch the menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Sound
Touch Notification Ringtone
Select Sound, touch OK

Make sure that you are choosing ok once you select the new sound.

I am using no other messaging application, and I did exactly those directions. Once I go to the settings, it shows that I have "facebook pop" chosen, but it never plays whenever a recieve a text message.. it only uses "pixie dust" no matter which sound I change it to.

Try going into the text messaging app and press menu. See if there is a settings button. If there is, press settings and go through that to if there is a ringtone option. Some of the applications that use notifications can have a different ringtone than the main notification ringtone.
