My phone did the update last night and now my notification light for new emails, text messages, calls, etc is not working.
I turned the phone off and pulled the battery.
Anyone else have this issue? Any possible solutions?
Thanks!

I have seen people saying they have the issue as well, but I haven't had any problems with the LED light not showing up on mine. Most people are saying it is correcting itself or could be some of the apps that use an LED light that you may have installed.

I have the same problem, with no solutions. In addition, there are no longer the options to silence the phone by either tapping the screen twice or turning the phone face-down. I have some choice words for Verizon and Google right now in relation to the GB update.

Go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, and select the app you use for texting, email, messaging, etc. Select "Clear Cache" on them all. That completely fixed the LED issue for me.
As far as the silencing, that was a change the GB made, unfortunately it's not just a bug.

From what I got from the Motorola forums this option was a major issue and they decided to remove it I guess because there was so many issues and users really didnt report it as a useful feature.
It was up in the air what solution that they planned to come up with and I guess they decided to remove it..... And before you get up set understand this isnt the first time a developer removed a problem feature and getting upset wont help, so many tried the same reaction when the option to disable option turn off the Slide Lock Screen but you see 3 updates later its still the same. I am guessing the auto silenct app was causing issues and restricted access to adding other needed fixes.

Working as designed on my device, remember that the light usually only flash when the device is in sleep mode and as soon as you wake it the light stops...

and yes I've already pulled the battery etc etc. Duh, you have to do that regularly with Verizon phones anyhow.
But NO a total RESET is NOT the option Im' looking for. I just want the **bleep** text app to work andnow if I reset, any info I have in text I will lose and I was perfectly fine keeping it there until I can barely get through a text message without it forcing close and then I have to RETYPE the entire message several times before it stops freezing.
How annoying.
Is there an uninstall ( NOT A RESET) that we can remove the update?
Was this update even run through Quality Assurance testing at all? I sit next to our communications guy at work (we're all IT) and I feel sorry for him having to hear ALL ABOUT the mess from this update with out Verizon users.
A little more QA goes a LOOONG way in software development, even for phones.
Just saying.

There are several apps out on the market that will enhance the performance of your phone and volume issues. If you're looking for an app to silence your ringer, perhaps you may want to take it a step further and look into something along the lines of locale or tasker. They are paid apps, but give you the functionality that you are looking for. On a lighter note, it takes just as long to manually silence your phone as it does to flip it upside down.

I too have been having this issue. My LED will work with my sms app (handcent) however it will not work with missed calls or new voicemails (I use GoogleVoice for my voicemails). I chatted with VZW Support and they just told me to turn off, remove battery, and restart. Really?? Yes, it's a good trouble shooting step for some things, but no it will not fix everything.
Then CS told me this was not a known issue. Well VZW, consider us letting you know.

Clear the cache of GoogleVoice on your phone. If that doesn't work, remove and reinstall it. One of those will fix it.

I tried both steps before this post. I did it again once for good measure. Now I'll wait for a VM to come in and see what happens.

All my LED notifications work with the exception of missed calls. Not sure what to do to remedy this and honestly I rarely miss a call. But it would be nice to have it work just in case.

If still having problems I saw mention of an App from the Motorola Forum called "Lightflow". I downloaded it andit does work for just about any notification with different colors if you prefer. Might work until a fix is put out there by Motorola.

My light works in green for all standard notifications (stock Message app, missed calls, Gmail, corporate synch mail, etc) but if I try to use Handcent or GoSMS or Blink I cannot get it to come on at all, in green or any other color, for those apps. It is almost as if they moved the location of some file from a standard spot to something custom to the Droid X so the other apps cannot find the file(s) needed to operate the light.

I understand your concerns with the LED notification not working properly since the Gingerbread update. This has actually been lifted up to the manufacturers and development team. They were able to reproduce the issue and has advised will be addressed with another update, date TBD.
I really appreciate your patience and your business!!!
