Notifications for Droid Charge

I recently purchased a Droid Charge.  Like most people, I use my phone during the day and charge at night.  Now I get a 1 am wakeup ding each night when the battery is full.  How can I turn off the battery notification without turning off all notifications (email, missed call, etc.)?  Thanks.

I am not sure this will work, but worth a try. Press the Menu key from any home screen (lower left physical key) and then select Settings > sound settings > Volume and see if there is a slider for "System". If so, set the slider to zero.

If you don't see that slider, do a soft reset of the phone (remove battery, wait 30 seconds and insert/restart) and then follow above.

Hello kctkids,

I do understand that being unfavorable woken up is not a great thing.  However, per Samsung the Charge does not have settings to disable this function through the default menu.  You may put the phone in vibrate of silent to avoid hearing the actual sound notification or change the sound to one that may not cause you to wake up.  I hope one of the above options assist you to avoid a 1am notification.  Thank you.

You can also download a widget that can silence your phone for a specified amount of time.  I use Beautiful Widgets and there is one that allows you to pick from time ranges that will completely silence your phone.  This widget works great for meetings too.

The only downside is that you won't hear a phone call, etc.

I was wondering the same thing about the annoying "DROOIIIDD" in the middle of the night. I too have the cradle next to my bed and it wakes me up every time battery is fully charged. If there can be a fix for turning this off, PLEASE let me know.

What I have found is that you can download the widget I mentioned above, change the notification tone for each individual app that may be giving you a notification, turn down the volume, etc.  I too use the desktop cradle next to my bed and I silence my phone using the BW widget.

I also take my cradle on the road with me while traveling.  When I do that I cannot silence my phone, so what I've done is change the default notification tone to the facebook pop (very unobtrusive).  I then went back and set a different notification tone for email, text, etc.  That way if my family needed to get a hold of me in the middle of the night I wouldn't miss a call / text.

I know it's a little more work, but it's the only way I was able to work around getting woken up.
