ORDERING TIME DOES NOT MATTER! YOU COULD HAVE ORDERED ON LAUNCH DAY AND IT WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL 8/3

DO NOT believe that your order will ship by 7/23 if you ordered via the web site on launch day!

I ordered on 7/15 at 10:24PM. I was just informed at 8:05AM that shipments are based on PROCESSED time. My order was PROCESSED on 7/20, pushing my ship date for my LAUNCH DAY order to 8/3!

I ordered my phone online on 7/16 in the late afternoon. I received my phone yesterday! I dont know why you are having a hard time.

I ordered Droid X on 7/15 at 7:30 AM online and received the phone at 2:30 pm the next day. Whatever problems contributors are encountering with their order are not universal problems.

Not true...I ordered via the internet on launch day and got my phone on Wednesday.

I did not say that you definitely won't get it. I was stating that a launch day order does not guarantee delivery prior to 8/3

when did we establish that????? I have a very good credit score thank you very much. I also have a current account with verizon that has 2 droids on it. I have NEVER missed a payment to verizon wireless. The order was NOT held up by my credit card.

when I placed my order on the site, the shipment notifier on screen said "Will ship by 7/23". Verizon changed that on Saturday to show "Will ship by 7/27". It now shows "Will ship by 8/3".

Heading out on vacation next week. Won't be in town when verizon says that I am now due to receive it which means it will be sent back to them by FedEx. Then I will have to wait even longer. Make sense now?

in response to elotter about my credit card declining...this is a copy/paste from my CC's website, note that the Post Date was 7/22 and the Trans Date was 7/20, meaning that VZW said they processed on 7/20 and did not request the money until 7/22. To me this says that someone finally noticed the issue with my order last night and sent it through, saying that it was processed on 7/20.

That is not what "post" and "transaction" dates mean. Transaction dates are when charges are run through, post date is when the paper trail (real or virtual) catches up with it. Transaction date is when your CC company approves the payment. Post date doesn't have anything to do with "request the money".

to everyone else, let me apologize. I was extremely angry at VZW yesterday. Here are the facts presented calmly.

1) I ordered on 7/15 via the web site @ 10:24PM

2) I called to check on the order multiple times because my order status did not look correct and was told it would ship 7/23

3) my credit card was not declined or waiting for authorization or stuck in fraud protection limbo

4) my current ship date is 8/3

Again, I apologize for the hatred and anger I was spewing. If I could scrub out the posts, I would.

Sorry you are having a difficult time getting your phone. I ordered mine on the 15th and received it by noon on the 16th. Have been playing with it ever since. This phone rocks.

I also cannot complain. Ordered my phone the Friday after launch day (the 16th) and received it the following Monday (the 19th) even though the site said it wouldn't ship until the 23rd.

I am not sure why your having so much trouble. Verizon put my upgrade through a couple weeks early and i ordered on like the 18th of july and the phone shipped the 22nd of july. I will have it tomorrow so Idk why your having such an issue.

Thursday 7/15 - 8am. I went to the store - Had Droid X in hand by 8:30am (one of 60 - but I was smart enough to make an 8am appointment to not have to wait in a line of about 150+)

Saturday 9/17 - 3pm. camera / camcorder stopped working. Called for replacement. Was told there was a 2 week backorder but that it *may* come sooner.

Thursday 9/22 - 10:30am. Replacement phone arrived and working perfectly!!

Bottom line is - if you expect to get a newest, best and hot phone right away - you have to be creative in the way that you get it. You can't just sit back and complain like many did in the store because they "didn't know" you could make an appointment. Come'on people - do your homework! I think Verizon may have some shipping delays due to the phone being under-produced. The store only had 60? And none the second or third day?? I think it comes down to suppy and demand.

But - all in all - I had a great customer service experience because I was prepared. I even had a broken phone!!!

I am really disturbed after reading all this. I put my order in on 07/18/2010 and was told by a verizon rep if I ordered online on 07/18/10, I would be on the 07/27 shipment if not sooner. I have been reading where people put in their order after mine on 07/21 or even 7/22 and they already have tracking numbers for them to receive their package today or tomorrow. I have not received a tracking number from Verizon and you would think I would get the phone before the people that put their orders in after mine. If this is true, I am very dissapointed in Verizon.

Agreed. Ordering via the Internet seems to have been hit or miss. If you ordered at the wrong time your order seems to have gotten stuck until someone found it.

I've been waiting to get a personal (non-work) cell phone since I got my wife her Droid and decided this was going to be the one when I first saw it. I unfortunately was not able to get to a VZW store on launch day and figured I was safe ordering it that night. At that point I figured I'd have the phone by 7/23 like the site said. Unfortunately that is not the case. I've had correspondence with VZW via email and phone, asking why I am so far down in the queue for shipping. Their only response is "your order wasn't processed until 7/20, sorry."

Nothing against you Lightninrod, but thzat just **bleep** me off. You ordered yours online 07/22 and you getting it tomorrow. Isnt that some **bleep**!! I ordered mine on 07/18 and still no confirmation it has been sent. I am usually very patient but a lot of people that ordered after me, is getting them before me. How is this even fair? Shouldnt it be first order gets satisfied first and goes down the line that way?

@hwklife - hang in there. I just got my tracking number at 3P ET today and my order processed on 8/20 (even though I ordered on the 15th). It should be here tomorrow. VZW must be ahead of what they are actually quoting out. Good luck!

I ordered mine in store on July 18th told I'd have it shipped by the 27th. Well for days now I've been seeing people getting theirs that just ordered them a few days ago and was wondering what the heck was up. I called this morning cause I still haven't gotten any emails even acknowledging my order or a tracking number. The CSR said mine has shipped and will be here tomorrow YAY. I still haven't gotten any info though like tracking but got the number over the phone. When I look at the tracking it says it started in Newark, went to West Chester then back to Newark! I'm probably about equal distance from both of those so I'm not sure why they just couldn't deliver it instead of playing hot potato back and forth between west chester and newark for a few days.

It takes about four days that is when I ordered mine it came in on the 22 it is great.

As I was getting frustrated by reading all the posts about people getting their shipping confirmations earlier than promised (and wondering whether the posts were true) I got my confirmation. Ordered through telesales on July 20. Assuming all goes well, I should have it on July 29.

I agree it doesnt really matter when you ordered it because it seems like some orders are randomly shipping early, i ordered mine on the 23rd and still no sign of it. I wish it hurries because im so sick of the curve 8330, yes the really old one. so yall understand my excitement!!!!

Ordered mine in the local Verizon store on the 7/22 and received it yesterday 7/28. Didnt get any email till the DX was actually shipped though.
