If your device is slowing down in its performance. I recommend that you close or delete any applications or programs that are being ran. If this problem still persists, please do a battery pull. You will need to remove the battery>hold the power button down for 15 seconds>replace the battery>power the device back on. To remove the Madden 11 application go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>choose Madden 11>press Uninstall.

Like it has been said several times, you can not uninstall any preinstalled apps from the device without using methods that will void your warrenty. As long as you do not click on the link and download the the app the item does not take much space, plus I have a large amount of apps on my device (20-30) which some are games that are rather large in size but I still have about 6 Gigs left from the 8 Gig originally pre installed so I never get the concern of space that preinstalled apps take up...

I believe what Oshea is referring to is if you tap on Madden, it will download a preview of the game. Once that preview is installed, THAT you can delete. If you don't want Madden, just don't tap on it and download it. As for the icon, well, they say that nothing lasts forever, except the excessive programs Verizon slaps on their smartphones and their icons.

Are the apps subsidizing upgrades? Don't we pay enough for this phone and the monthly service fee?
When I upgrade, I only want that, not random apps to clutter and track my phone.

Of course these apps are subsidizing the upgrades.
My guess is you people have never run a business because I can guarantee you something..... if you did run a business and sold 1,000,000+ of anything and saw a way to make an additional 10 cents on each one, you would jump at the oportunity.
I also think some of you have bought into the governments thinking that profit is a bad thing. Profit is the engine that make the economy run. Businesses that are loosing money don't hire additional workers and expand, profitable businesses do.
Verizon is financing the building of a 4G network from profits, not loses.
Also the Madden NFL 11 app is a 3/8ths in square icon on your phone. Don't you have more important things to worry about. Paying the mortgage payment, making good grades, finding your wife or girlfriend that perfect gift? Besides, 18months from now you won't even have the Droid X. You'll have a 4G LTE phone and the Madden app will be long forgotten.
Remenber..... "Isn't fun the best thing to have." Quote by Arthur, from the movie by the same name.
