Ordering ONline vs At the Verizon Store

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts about ordering a phone (Droid X) online or at a store.   When you order online and you have a problem with the phone, do you have to get service/help online to or can you take it to a store?

I see that ordering online there are discounts that may not be offered in the stores....Appreciate your help...

The only difference to ordering online vs at the store, is that you get the $100 rebate instantly online, where you need to submit the rebate from the store.

I have ordered my last two 3 phones online for that reason alone. The only issue that I had is the car charger that came with the car dock that I ordered with the Droid X broke after 1 week of use, and I just brought it to the corporate store that is about 5 miles from my house and they replaced it.

When you order online, you get a copy of the purchase online at my verizon website. You will need to print it out to expidite any issues that you have if you bring it back to the store.

Personally I would rather purchase locally, but making me wait for the rebate when I purchase from the store, vs getting it taken right off the top ordering online, I don't like to wait for my money :smileyvery-happy:

If you have any issues with a phone ordered online, you can take it to the store for service.  From what I've experienced lately they require you to take it to the store first before replacing it via mail.

With that said.... There are indeed discount offers that you can get online that are not available in the store.  For instance:  Instant $100 rebate, you can also use the code: SWITCH30 for an addtional $30 discount on each phone, if you add that with a $50 or $100 new every 2 discount you could save quite a bit compared to in the store.
