Ordering a DROIDX online?

I plan on ordering a DROIDX online the morning of the 15th. I'm going to sit at my computer, constantly refreshing the page until it shows up, and I have a few questions.

First, I live on the East Coast. Seeing that Verizon is a company all over the US, does anyone know about what time they will have their website updated? I mean, I'm willing to wait for 30 minutes. But if they decide to update it according to 12AM West Coast time, that will be, what, 3AM for me? I dont know if I want to spend that much time waiting to order my phone. I would order at the store, but I don't want to deal with the mail-in-rebate.

Secondly, if, say, I'm one of the first to order the DROIDX online, do you think I will get my order the 16th? Won't Verizon say on their website whether there is/isn't a delay for receiving the phone? I'm leaving the 17th, and won't be back untill the 25th. So, if I don't get the phone the 16th, I won't be getting it untill sometime around the 27th. If, by any chance, my order isn't placed till the 16th, and I'm scheduled to receive the phone the following Monday, does anyone know if they can change the address that it's being shipped to? I don't mind the fees, I just wanted to know if that's possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone ever ordered a phone the day it was released online, and was it shipped out the same day ordered it? If you have, your comment would be greatly appreciated!

Well a quick search on Google has told me that Verizon headquarters is based in Newyork, NY. So, more than likely it will be eastern timing. This is how many companies typically do it. I am all for other people jumping in though, as I could be wrong and they just have a messed up way of doing it.

You could just sit at your computer and start refreshing at 12am?

If you do choose to order online like onewithshadows suggested, you can keep pressing F5 on your keyboard to refresh the page. It'll go faster to refresh the page so you can buy quickly.

My suggestion would be to get one at a Corporate Verizon store.  I know, you said you don't want to wait for the rebate.  But later you said you weren't worried about fees.  Since you're leaving on the 17th and won't be back 'til the 27th, why take a chance on trying to change the delivery address. (which most likely Verizon won't handle very well, as your order will be just one of many thousands, and it's just another place for the order to get messed up)

So, get one at the store, no delivery fees, no hassle with signing for the delivery, you'll see the phone you're getting before you leave the store and know that it works, can pick up any accessories you'll be needing, etc.   It's cleaner, and all you give up is waiting a few weeks for you $100 rebate.   I just see to many variables and possibilities for errors with you ordering online.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do,

Patiently/Impatiently waiting for the release of the Droid X!

If I can't get to a Verizon store on the 15th because the account holder is working and can't upgrade my account under him would having the account holder upgrade and order online be a better idea than waiting til Friday or Saturday to get to a store and try to get one there?

First, I live on the East Coast. Seeing that Verizon is a company all over the US, does anyone know about what time they will have their website updated? The website is running off of Pacific Time. Unfortunately there is not an estimated time when the Motorola Droid X will be released on the website on 7/15/10; however, it will be available online on that date. I mean, I'm willing to wait for 30 minutes. But if they decide to update it according to 12AM West Coast time, that will be, what, 3AM for me? Free Overnight Shipping is available for purchases placed on VerizonWireless.com within the U.S. Only, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Orders placed by 4:30 pm local time Monday – Friday excluding holidays will deliver by the next business day. (Orders placed after 4:30 pm local time on Friday and before 4:30 pm local time on Monday will deliver on Tuesday.) Subject to  verification and inventory availability. Won't Verizon say on their website whether there is/isn't a delay for receiving the phone? I'm leaving the 17th, and won't be back untill the 25th. So, if I don't get the phone the 16th, I won't be getting it untill sometime around the 27th. I don't mind the fees, I just wanted to know if that's possible. There is an option online to change the shipping address from the billing address when going through the order process. When going through the order process, if the device is out of stock, you will see an estimated shipping date.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone ever ordered a phone the day it was released online, and was it shipped out the same day ordered it? If you have, your comment would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a conversation I had with a CSM via live chat on verizon's website about an hour ago:

Please wait for a Verizon Wireless sales representative to assist you with your order. Thank you for your patience!

A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with Kinberly

Kinberly: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service.  May I help you with your order today?

You: Yes please

Kinberly: How may I help you today?

You: I am ready to upgrade the phones on my account and want to purchase the new Droid X. Will that be available online or will I have to go to my local retailer?
