Just got the Droid last week. So far am pleased with the speed of the web browser and call quality. But my email sucks.
I have configured my Godaddy email account and I do get incoming mails but I AMUNABLE TO SEND ANY EMAILS. I have tried all possible configurations and also spoke with the GoDaddy techsupport, but with no luck. tried Motorola techsupport too, was too frustrating to speak with the guy.
Even on the incoming emails I have a small issue, when I see an email and click to read it, it says "Loading" and seems to just take forever, but when I click on the "REPLY/REPLYALL" the compose screen pops up right away with the contents of the email instantly.!!!!?????
Do any of you have any problems with sending emails? Please help!!!!!

I have a GoDaddy email account as well. Make sure you are using smtpout.secureserver.net. Also, I couldnt get it to work until I switched the Port to 25.
I hope this helps.

I have a couple of go daddy imap email accounts also.
These are the settings that worked for me. Note, I'm using k-9 mail client. But the same worked for the built in mail also.
SMTP Server: smtpout.secureserver.net
Security type: none
port: 25
Require sign in is checked
and then I have my user account informaition for the user name and password.
note: the user name is normally your *full* email address.

Having the same problem with outgoing mail. Tried the suggested solutions, but am receiving this error message:
'Setup could not finish, Cannot connect to server. (501 Authentication failed)'
Anyone have a solution?

I have a domain name with email by GoDaddy, and it works great on my Motorola Droid.
Incoming server settings:
Username: xxxxxx@mydomain.com <<<<<< YOUR EMAIL HERE
Password: yourpasswordhere
POP3 server: mail.mydomain.com
Security type: none
Port: 110
Outgoing server settings:
SMTP server: smtpout.secureserver.net
Security type: none
Port: 25
CHECK BOX for Require sign-in
Username: xxxxx@mydomain.com <<<<<< YOUR EMAIL HERE
Password: yourpasswordhere
My only problem is that is apperas that Verizon or the Droid only allows for a few days worth of emails as they are removed from my phone after a few day?????
