Every Verizon person I've talked to says the phone prices change all the time, yet I check phone prices everyday and they dont change at all
they drop over time. the incredible was $200 when it launched. by the time they quit selling it, it was $99 (just one example). all of their devices drop in price when they get older.....but if you thought they changed prices daily or weekly, then no. if you're looking at newer devices that are $200 or more, then they will be those prices for at least a number of months before they drop.
You can get a droid charge if you have a costco card for $179.99 or see if bestbuy will price match it perhaps. That's how I got mine yesterday from BB price matching.
