Phone won't activate? No service after multiple "fixes".

Got my new phone yesterday at noon and still have no service.  Phone reps had me remove battery/sim, factory reset, several times.  They say it is activated on their end but nada, nothing on my end.  Any ideas?????

Finally gave up with phone support and returned the phone.  Store tried for over an hour to try to get it to work before giving me replacement..  If I had waited the (up to) 72 hours for network support to get to the trouble ticket the phone still wouldn't have worked.....geez!

Take it back, and don't leave the store until you have a phone you can use.  I am surprized that the store allowed you to leave without confirming that the phone worked.

Although this must have been done, I will ask anyway: did you set up an account with Google as required as part of setup/activation?

Yes, I have a Google acct and can access via WiFi on the phone.  I got the phone from a loyalty rep on the phone.  The store wouldn't honor the discount upgradet that only seemed to show online for some reason.  I truly spent hours on the phone with VZW reps yesterday trying to get the phone to work and this morning at 7am I called again and they said a network tech ticket was put in and it could take 72 hours to hear from them.  Really?  I am suppose to go 3 and a half days with no phone service on a $300 phone......unacceptable.  Been a customer for 18 years and I hear this kind of statement.

Guess I will try going to the closest corporate store but at this point just wish I had switched to another carrier.

I am sorry to hear that.  I am in an area in which Verizon is really the only reliable network.  I understand your frustration; I have had similar experiences with other providers of electronica, but curiously my experience with Verizon in person has been very good.

I don't know what the return policy might be for your transaction, since it was online/phone rather than through a store, but you should check it now.  The store returns phones only within 14 days of purchase, and charges a $35 "restocking fee" if you bring one phone back and buy a different phone.

I would not wait to get this resolved; act soon and very loudly, or too much time might pass...
