I have had the Droid X for 35 days and I do not have phone insurance ....I had not had any problems with this phone until last week ...I was texting and looking at stuff on the internet as usual...I was about an hour away from home and had been gone all day so naturally the battery died .I went home and charged it like I always do at the end of the day ...I took it off charge once the battery reached 100% charged so I could set my alarm on it for school the next day. The phone powered on ...says DROID across the screen and then goes the red eye as usual when it is first turning on but then it just goes back to saying DROID and then the red eye again and it does this over and over again repeatedly until the battery dies out or I take the battery out . I have not dropped this phone or had it near any liquid so I do not know what the problem is unless it is something internally wrong with the phone...I tried rebooting it and it still continues to do this cycle . Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Sounds like you didn't give it a long enough charge. When the battery goes to less then 10%, and it sounds like yours went to almost zero, it needs a good 12 hour charge. The battery indicator may say 100% but the battery itself isn't fully charged. From what you said, it sounds like you only gave it a couple of hours of charge. Twelve hours. Plus, were you using the wall charger or did you have it hooked to your computer? If it was hooked to your computer for the charge, it wasn't getting what it needed. You have to use the wall charger for more power in cases like this.

you stated that you have had the phone for 35 days and you have inflicted no physical damage. If your still experiencing this constant reboot cycle then just either call verizon customer support or bring it to your local verizon store and have them either reflash or exchange. You have a 1 year warranty regardless whether you purchased the optional insurance or not.

You could also try to boot it up in SAFE mode ... just to see if it successfully comes all the way up.

Safe Mode? Is that where you hold the menu key down while you power up?

Just the clearify the question, The correct phrase is Recovery Mode instead of Safe Mode. Heres the steps if you require theme,,,
Power Device Off First.....
1. Hold Home Button and press power
2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with astrick
3. Let Go of Home Button and Power
4. Press Search Button (Far Right Button)
5. A blue menu will show at top of page, scroll to Format Device
6. Select Yes to verify
7. Allow format to complete (Information at bottom of page will go through a few steps)
8. Once Format is complete Blue Menu will show at top again, select Reboot
Note: Use volume up and down to select opinion and use camera button as Enter,,,

I stand corrected ... But I was NOT aware that this mode actually REFORMATTED the phone !! I had thought it was just another way to Boot the phone in "safe" mode just to see if it is possibly an APP that had gone awry ... or are you saying that you can just boot the phone in Recovery mode and NOT reformat???? thanks for clearing this up.

Yes you can boot into recovery mode without formatting unit, there is a list of options under this menu but usually when a user access this menu is to either clear the cache for device or wipe device... Sometime clearing the cache helps ehen a device is hangin on boot, but if that doesnt work you usually can do a complete wipe to get device back up and running, this is where backups pay off...
Check my post here: http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-X-by-Motorola/Stuck-in-reboot/td-p/335991 where I layed out both options that may help...

From what the original letter wrote, I don't think it is a cache problem or a re-boot of any type problem. Sounds like the person just allowed the battery to drain completely. If that is the case, 1) Charging it on the computer will not help, it must be charged using the wall plug, and 2) a two or four hour charge will not help. It needs at least an eight hour charge and 12 hours is better yet. I might also suggest that the writter purchase a car charger so that the Droid can be charging while driving. This will keep the battery from draining.

You may be right that recharging might work but from what I read it looked like the power drain was the start of the issue, they reported that they recharged the device and the unit would not complete boot and was having a cycle reboot issue and if this was the case then something got thrown off when the device got completely drained that has caused the constant reboot issue.... Maybe more information would help because it seems there is some diffrence in understanding the issue... Does the device boot or not, am I correct to believe that the device is in a rebooting loop at this time?
Just tring to clearify....
