Can someone please help me? I have 3 different folders in my gallery, all with the same pics in them. How can I delete one or two of the folders and just keep the all pics folder? I tried dragging and dropping but that doesn't work. Will all of my pics continue to go into 3 folders every time I take a new one?
The folders are grouped by information tagged on image so no matter wher you move the files you will usually always see this, I am guessing the 3 folders is All Folders - Tags folder - and a created image folder.... This is a programming grouping anf it cant be chanfed because if you hide from one it usually hides from all folders.
Unfortunately, you can not delete or hide these folders. The Camera Roll, so I was told, are photos/videos you took with the camera and are dated. The My Tags have photos/videos in which you sign a location where the photo was taken. Folders have several folders in them, this one has me puzzled. Then you have All Photos and All Videos. From what I was told, all the same photo in each of these folders are the same photo and not duplicates. So, if you erase a photo from one of the folders, it will be erased from all of the folders. This is true because I tried it. So, each of the same photos are not eating up space, just one of them is.
Mortb is right. If you are concerned about space, you need not really worry. Each time you see a photo in a folder it is like a link to where the single photo is stored. So you may have one photo and three "links" (folder images) to it. The one photo is taking up space. But, each "link" is using very minimal space (not enough to make a dent).
Mortb, "Folders" hold folders you create yourself. For example if you have photos in folders on your computer and load them onto your phone, those folders will show up in "Folders", as well as the camera photos.
Believe me, the folders within folders made themselves. There are six of them, and I think I know how they appeared. One is bluetooth and contains pictures I took from my LG Versa using bluetooth, One is camera and contains photos and videos I took with the Droid, Etc. What gets me is I have two video folders with only one video per folders, whereas I really have four videos and they are stored in my video folder. Why aren't two more videos inside the video folder too? Oh well! One of those mysteries of life, and the droid.
A;so keep in mind that the gallery doesnt just read sd card files, it picks up files on unit also... I have games that has video intros and they also show up in the gallery and I think this is where the addition files and folders are showing up from.
