I have a dilemma on my hands that I would need your take on it.
Last July, I owned DX for a week but constant reboots drove me nuts so I returned that phone. In September, I bought Fascinate because I was told that it will also get Froyo just like DInc and DX. It'd been 7 months and no Froyo for Fascinate. I need to use several programs that only 2.2+ compatible. After bugging Verizon for a month when Froyo will be released to Fascinate, I finally got an offer from Verizon to Swipe Fascinate for DX.
So my dilemma is DX stable enough with Froyo or is it still rebooting randomly? Are there any users who actually switched from Fascinate to DX? What do you think? Should I switch to DX? Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've had my Droid X since launch day and couldn't be more satisfied. I've never had any rebooting problems or any others for that matter and I've gone through 2 OS updates. (2.1 to 2.2 and then later 2.2 to 2.2.1)
As for 4G being unstable, I think unstable is the wrong word. Since LTE is only available in 38 cities and somewhat more airports the coverage is somewhat "spotty" (i.e. switches from 3G to 4G) if you're on the edge of the coverage areas. Please don't take offense to my bringing up your use of the word unstable, but some "newbies" reading your post may get the impression that LTE is truly "unstable" which it isn't. If you're in a strong 4G covered area, the speeds are blazing fast and very stable. When Verizon gets their 4G service blanketing the country similar to their 3G coverage, it will be amazing.
Best of luck whatever you decide to do.

Personally, I have never experieinced the "reboot problem" that some people have posted/complained about ... at least no REBOOTS that weren't caused by an APP I installed (and then promptly Uninstalled). So as far as "stable", I guess it will depend on the phone you get and the APPs you install.
As far as whether to get the DX - personally I would be more apt to get the new Thunderbolt. It is 4G compatible and has a front-facing camera (1.3mp) in addition to the normal camera (8mp). From what I've seen, it is basically the DX on steroids. (And it will likely get Gingerbread ... while the DX is still all rumoured to get it)
Good luck in whichever route you take.

I'm quite happy with my DX. I've had it for about nine months now and, yes, I've had to pull the battery a few times as well as shut down and then reboot a few times. Other than that, I've had no trouble with it at all. I think that you should give the DX a second chance. If you don't like it, you have 14 days to exchange it. As for the HTC Thunderbolt, I really do not care for HTC. I am waiting to see the Motorola Bionic 4g android. It sounds like it is more like the DX on steroids than the Thunderbolt.

Wait for the Bionic if you can. The bolt is fast, but its battery drains like a 73 Buick LeSabre drank gas.
The X is stable. I typically get over a week between (manual) reboots that I usually do out of habit from using a computer all these years. I haven't had a random reboot in literally too long to remember.
If 4G isn't a necessity, or isn't available where you are, and you don't want to wait, you should be pleased with a Droid X.
