Poor reception in Bennington, Vermont -103dbm

airborne82nd_1

Ok so I am originally from Chicago but I recently just moved to Bennington,Vermont and the reception for this phone is TERRIBLE.  I can't even make  a call with this phone anymore without it dropping 6 seconds after I dial a number.  People call and it drops after I say hello.

I have done that *228 crap every month since I moved here and it still hasn't improved anything at all.  I thought Verizon suppose to be EVERYWHERE.

My freaking dbm is -103 here.  But yet all my friends and family out here with US Cellular, At&t, Sprint have 3 bars.  My phone never goes above 1 bar here.

I was thinking when Froyo came out my reception would improve, but no it is still the same freaking **bleep** poor.

Still got a year left on my contract for a phone that I can't even make phone calls with.

Hello airborne82nd_1. I understand your frustration for the service you are receiving in your area. It shows you are in a digital location. If you have tried doing a battery pull then the *228 and select option 1 or option 2 you will want to try doing a hard reset on your device.

From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located on the bottom of the screen).
Touch
Settings.
Touch
Privacy.
Touch
Factory data reset.
Touch
Reset phone
Touch
Erase Everything.

My dbm stays in the -99/-103 continually and I don't drop many calls. Hills and mountains are not good for any kind of radio signal. And didn't you write about this a month or so ago?

No I didn't write about this a month ago.  However I did what was suggested and it didn't help at all.  Now far as mountains and such maybe.  Howvever if that was the case my wife's US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S phone wouldn't work  in this town either.  Her phone does, have full bars through out the town.

Along with my neighbor's Sprint Evo 4G phone, their phones work throughout this town as well.  We can be standing in the same spot, all of their non verizon phones work well in this town.

I asked around and the only 2 carriers that seem to have a problem in this town is Verizon and T-mobile according to the locals.

I have found that there a many areas on Verizon coverage map that are not good coverage, or in some case no usable coverage at all. I have spent many hours with customer service and tech support. The fist step is point the problem to many items except the poor coverage in such area. The blame is your phone, weather, regulations, and so on. After extensive amount of time (dozens of calls) they will eventually tell you that you are in a "know problem area". They refuse to modify the coverage map. I don't understand why, it think its only fair. Each individual seems to want to help, but the overall customer system fails. They will offer you to opt out of your contract after you struggle for a year or so.
