Possible solution for Data Connect Issues

I have been going through a number of test to identify the data dropping issues that a number of users have reported and I think I have identifed one possible solution that seems to be working for me, I have ran my device for almost a week like this and I havent had any buffing or connection lost issues and I figure this may be something worth sharing..

Goto Settings / Wireless Networks / Mobile Networks / System Select and change it from auto to Home Only and reboot. this seem to help a lot and I havent notice any issues, but keep in mind if you travel a lot you may have to switch to Auto tp get reception in some areas. 

This was just a test and cant say it will work for everyone but it may be worth a try....

so it only works on your home wireless?

The data connections seems more stable when its not scanning other networks for signal. It may work on other towers if they are part of the home network partner group but I haven't traveled in the last week to test this.

is this for wi-fi or 3g?

This is for the 3g network and I do not think it will effect wifi and since I never had wifi issues it would be hard for me to test that connection. Sorry...

Wildman do think this would work in a  50 to 100 mile radious area like to wichita , to Newton to Mcpherson. if we take a tootle.

thru the week though i'm home so it would'nt be a biggie. some thing els i notice wildman when i'm using the Network an

streaming like Scanner Radio Pro when Birtha is pluged in to the charger it streams flawlissly with a minor hick-up once an

while but if she is off the charger she Buffers like going thru a wind storm or stops all together an she does'nt  to bad when were

out tootaling around. around town. or over by McPherson , Newton , Wichita. But one thing wildman i dont thank they.ve got the towers

totally switch over yet the reason why not to long ago i was on the phone with a T 3 Teck an ask if the Call Center were still staffed by

Verizon an Alltel Tecks an he said yes they were but it was going to changed Very Soon an then Alltel would be gone for Good i told

him i was surprized it was still around at all an he said yea there are a few little pocket places but when when all the alltel tecks

finish there Teck Traning an a few loose end's between Verizon an alltell an Alltel an At&t were done the alltel name will Vanish. For

Good.

This has also been reported as a fix by another user in addition to turning off data roaming.

Pool shark is'nt it a he$$ of a deal that there are still Alltel towers in operation in the Verizon aeas even though no alltel stores

exist. when i talked to that T3 teck i said Boy thats a head Scratcher an he said you now how it goes when the Government. has

its fingers in the Mix i said yea gotta makem happy. He said well Verizon Does'nt have much say when Goverment has there

fingers in it. they say you do it this way an he said an thats way it better be done. i said or someone or the company will pay an he

said yes sir. i said i think thats all i need to Know. An i told him thanks for helping me answer my Question an he said No

Pool shark that post may of just helped me. wildman if you havent checked out that link take a look.  in my case i'm about 1.2 mile from one tower an about 0.9 mile from the other woooo no wonder they may be a issue with me being smack dab in the middle of two Towers an the one tower has more than one set of elements wich could lead to another carrier using that tower as well. thank thats possible wildman.

Wildman i done a change an set Birtha to Home only , Data Roaming is unchecked But Backgroud Data is Checked an Data Enable is also checked. So then i need to power birtha off an restart her or is better to do a Batt pull while she's on an restart Her. just want to make sure wich is best. !

I think a reboot should be fine. Not fan of battery pulls because I can't see them being good on the device.

Wildman did you here that the LTE may be Down Nation Wide i Heard this erlier.  i think thats been the 3 or 4th time    for this that dont sond to good but they may have had too . Do a upgrade or Maintinance on it.

I still think the use of the 4g devices is a heavier load than was suspected, the number of users logged into Mobile Hotspots and streaming data, I think this may happen more than a little bit.

Since no 4g here yet it hasn't got me worrying yet.

Wildman I think Verizon is going to have to buy some Bigger in Diameter Pipe to run more Data cable for the bigger of influx of Data thats going to be pumping thru there system an if they don't  its going poop out more an more.  as areas come on line as it has already done more than once now . do you think this would be fair to say Wildman.

I use Tune in Radio at work at times.... that and ESPN radio app... one of the two is usually running.

and the correct phrase (at least how I learned it) is "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner"

@ Wildman i streamed music an birtha from 1  to 7 this morning an she did fine the only little mistake i maid i concked out an forgot to plug in the charger an she went untill batt drained so i'm pumping it up again for another test run. O  i'm watching some good racing got tony stewart on the pc via race buddy. its cool riding in the car via the camera an the live Audio. Go Tony Go.!...

Glad to here that is working well for you also...  I streamed pandora all night myself without issues, the setting seem to help a lot.
