I got my EE4 update tonight and so far I found that the hotspot is back to normal. Since it's 12:39 am my time I'm going to wait till morning to see what else is different. Post anything you find good or bad
Phone seems a bit smoother and Hot Spot is working again, but unforunately thus far I don't see any real change in reception. I was in a 3G area when I turned on my phone on 2 occasions and it initially showed about 4 bars, but no indication of 3G, 4G or even 1X. After several seconds it eventually showed 3G but until that happened I had the dreaded "connectivity error". So no real change there and that was the biggest change I had hoped for.
I'll find out more tonight. I'd be happy if the phone is as sensitive in a 3G area as the Verizon Iphone...thus far it's not.
Well it does look like my reception has improved. We were in the same area last night they had issues before the update and it seems better. I had a solid 4G signal and it didn't drop data at all, but it also never dropped down to 3G. So I'm not sure if additional areas were lit up with 4G making the signal stronger or if the update actually influenced the reception.
Mobile hotshot works again, 4G reception has improved by a consistent 1 bar. Not sure about the 4G/3G switch back & forth. It seems to be worse, but too early to tell. My battery life is great.
I have a weird problem with my bluetooth headset. Before the update, the person I called would not be able to hear me on the first call I made after restarting the phone. All other calls would be fine. This was a duplicatable bug. After the update, the problem still exists, but doesn't seem to be attached to restarting the phone any more. Again, it is too early to tell. I'm using the Plantations Voyager Pro +. Does anyone else have something like this going on?
EE4 updated on Saturday when I bought the phone. 4G connectivity seems to be sporatic, but I don't have anything to compare it to. Currently not what I expected/hoped for.
Well the 4G to 3G issue is still there. I was in a Pinerra Break location in Huntington, N.Y. adjacent to the Walt Whitman Mall. My wife's Iphone was able to get data and although I showed 3 mystery bars (no designation of 3G, 4G or even 1X), I got zero data.
Add to this, as I read and verified on another thread, many apps are now unusable with EE4. I tried to get HBO To Go and it doesn't even show up whereas before the update it did. So I can't download the app.
