Problem with External Speaker

So i'm on my fifth phone now. The external speaker keeps blowing. Anyone else go thru this as Verizon and HTC is telling me this is not common?

Another user in this community with a DROID Eris has gone through a few devices because of a blown speaker.

Do you keep your volume levels at maximum most of time? That is the only thing that comes to mind when I hear this happening.

i don't know that i would call it "common," but i have seen a few complaints about it. again though, it hasn't been a complaint i've seen often. i do think it's a cheap speaker. mine is nearly a year old and has not blown.....but i was never impressed with it.
