Problem with HDMI cable and the Droid Charge

I've read various forums, and it appears that you cannot play movies from the Droid Charge on an HDTV using an HDMI cable.
I rented a movie through "Media Hub" and wanted to watch it on my TV. I connected my HDMI cable from the Charge to the TV, and the phone's homescreen displayed on the TV. Great! But as soon as I started to play the movie on the phone, a message scrolled across the TV that read "Canno play protected content via HDMI" (or something of that nature). I tried various solutions, but it appears that the Charge cannot play movies through an HDMI cable on a TV.
Is this correct? And if this is true, how can I play movies from my Charge on my TV? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

My guess would be that the licensing rights under which Samsung distributes movies through the Media Hub may restrict that ability to show this content other than on the Droid itself.
I think the HDMI will send pictures and video you take an HDTV; it might even send YouTube videos, I am not sure. But perhaps the licensing of Media HUB content restricts this.
Good luck!

would not that be to prevent one to record it from the HDTV?

Some media will, soem protected media is encrypted to not display on external ports and devices due to license. Regular movies transfered to the phone will play in full HD fine.
May also want to try other movie players on the market.
