Problem with setting and roaming

Hi there everyone, hope someone can help me out with this one.  I have a droid x and i have the nationwide plus mexico plan and the unlimited data package which allows me to receive and send data when I am roaming.  My question is the following, i cross back and fourth from El Paso, Texas to Cd. Juarez almost everyday and I want to know if there is a setting or something I can do so that when i cross the border into Mexico (Cd. Juarez) i can lock into the signal that mexico companies have for mobile services.

Like .... to stop the bleed over from verizon to Juarez, how can I set the phone to go into roaming mode or to lock on to the signal in Juarez (Mexico).

Thanks

You could try to update your PRL by dialing *228 option 2.

However, a VZW device will always use a VZW tower over a local non-vzw tower if the VZW tower still has an acceptable signal.

Hmm Im familiar with that problem. I dont think there is a way to stop the verizon towers. There was a rumor once that verizon had a tower in juarez for the mexico plan people. I dont know if its true or not. It would make sense tho since it would save tons of money on roaming but well I dont know just a rumor.
