Question about Force stop...

Hi. When I go to Settings/Applications/Manage Apps/Running and select Force stop for some apps, then come back later, many of the apps are still showing under the Running tab. Am I missing the concept of Force stop? Why does an app start running again in the background after I've stopped it? Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my phone?

I know, a lot of questions...

Because this is meant to stop a app that is freezing or locking up instead of having to reboot to fix issue, this isn't meant to keep the app off because every time the system access files related to that app it has to rub the app....  You can not stop any app completely.

Also, some of these apps that you "stopped" have a very nasty habit of restarting themselves.

A helpful hint I learned was use force stop for faulty apps you shouldn't just close apps or use these file managers that stop apps what you are doing is wasting battery android2.2 prioritizes pretty good and if you close most running apps besides games they restart slowing your phone and using more battery so if you are just closing apps at will you are defeating the purpose of helping your device performance

I believe the OP was wanting to know about apps restarting after app os force closed in the task manager not about the device rebooting, this post doesnt really apply.

My post explains exactly why they start up back even after being killed by the Task Manager. But i apologise for posting a link. I should have just pointed out why.
