Two questions regarding my new Droid:
1. What is the yellow star which appears next to some e-mail messages?
2. I am trying to copy text from a web site and send it to another Verizon customer via text messaging. The text will not transmit; the receiver gets a message with a link to the internet. I've tried first copying the text to a Notes app, then copying that to the text message, but the same thing happens. Is it impossible to do this simple function on the Droid?

Yellow star, is it while you're using the gmail app, or for a regular pop/imap account? If it's Gmail, it means the message was "starred" sorta like "favorite". If you were to go to the gmail webpage you'd find that messages starred on your phone get starred by gmail as they sync.
As for copying and pasting, depends. Is the text you are copying also a hyperlink? I think it may be copying the URL instead of the text itself. Doing a long press on a link should give you more options. Alternatively, if you're trying to copy the text itself while in the browser, doing a menu button press and going to the "more" tab will give you a copy option, just make sure you don't copy the URL of the link.
I just copied and pasted text from the browser to an SMS message this way and it did not generate a hyperlink, just did the text.
