RANDOMLY CLEARED TEXT THREADS

Yesterday my phone was working normally and my texts were all there. When I checked my phone about 45 minutes later all of my text threads had been deleted and my message folder was completely blank. I did not delete them from my phone, it never left my pocket so no one had access to it, and it's 'impossible' to view/modify texts from an outside source. That leaves only one other explanation, it was a malfunction relating to an app or something. I haven't downloaded any new apps recently, but I can't think of any other reason, except someone hacking my phone just to delete my texts.
Does anyone have another explanation that I'm not thinking of?
Has anyone else ever even heard of a problem like this?
Is there a way for me to view phone/app activity around the time this happened?
Is there any other way to try to find out what caused this?
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have reviewed this issue with our Technical Support Team and we recommend contacting Motorola directly. Due the nature and number of concerns with this issue, we have determined it to be an equipment issue, as opposed to being related to the Verizon Wireless Network. Mororola can be reached at 1-800/331-6456 or by clicking this link.
Thanks,

Your phone was not hacked. Under messages > menu > settings there is a category called storage options and a setting called delete old messages as limits are reached, make sure this is unchecked or leave the box checked and then change the message limit on the box below.

I just posted a thread about this a couple days ago. Mine has been doing the exact thing, 4 times in all since I bought the phone when it came out. No one seems to have an answer for it and I know my settings aren't set to automatically delete old messages, I turned it off, so I think its some kind of bug either installed on the phone that does it, or it might be an corrupted app that does it, so I deleted a lot of apps that I haven't used in a while since the last time it deleted my texts and so far, I still have my newer ones.

My phone did this today, too. I literally took it out of my bag and saw that every message was just gone. I have the settings already put to not deleting old messages. Is this really a bug? Is there any way to retrieve the messages?

My Droid also randomly does this, I think 5 or 6 times since i got it a little over a year ago. I also have my settings checked correctly and havent found a link from any of my other apps causing it. The only way I have found that helps me out, is I downloarded a "back up and restore" program so that I have a daily schedualed back up of all my text messages. When they do all disappear like that, I can go to that program and 'restore' all text messages from my last back up.
