Random Resetting

So my original Droid X couldnt be fixed and ended up getting a replacement today.  Now ever since I it out of the box it seems to be randomly resetting or powering off.  It only seems to be doing this when I press the power button to put the phone to sleep.  Are there any solutions to this or should I get another replacement?  Thanks.

It's resetting right out of the box? Send it back.

Try a factory reset and when u go to start up again SKIP your gmail set up.  See if the issue still happens.  IT most likely

is the issue of something in your gmail corrupting n causing a program issue.  Ive seen this alot lately

I dont think it was gmail since like I said before this happened right out of the box.  When I called *228 to activate the phone was when it first started.  I made the call and during the call the screen went black since it does after 30 seconds and the phone rebooted.

I agree with previous reply - if OUT OF THE BOX, and you have NOT installed any APPS, I would return it. If you've reinstalled a bunch of APPS, well, all bets are off ... This COULD be caused by one of those APPS.

I am returning it today.  it is absolutely ridiculous.  I can't even make a phone call without the phone rebooting.  It is like clockwork, every time the screen goes black it reboots.  And I'm this was after having problems with my previous droid x, I'm wondering how much it will take to get an actual new phone and new a "recertified" one.
