Really bummed out!

I am sorry to say that I am heading to Verizon this evening to return my Droid. I have been a big fan of the Droid, and I am truly happy that for many of you it is a wonderful device. There are so many things that I love about the Droid. However, starting yesterday I had a recurring issue that I experienced with my previous 2 Droids. While I am on a call, all of a sudden the person on the other end can't hear me. As I mentioned before, this also happened on 2 previous phones. This Droid had been working well for about 3 weeks, but now it is happening again.

I really am so upset because aside from this issue, I love the Droid. However, this is a deal breaker for me. Anyways, best of luck to all of you Droid users. I wish it would have worked out for me.

Sorry to hear that ksox. I know you've helped out quite a few people on here with their problems. I'm sure that you are aware that there is a "soft" mute button on the phone screen during a call. Is it possible that you are accidentally hitting this and muting your end? The proximity sensor should not allow this to happen, but maybe if you are holding the phone at an odd angle or something, it could happen. Just a thought. I know you like the phone, so I hate to see you give it up. Surely there is something we can figure out.

I really wish there was a fix for this. I have even been hitting the home button while on calls so that the keypad is not even present. It still happens though. I am so bummed. I really love everything else about the Droid. If this were something other than not making calls, I would live with it. However, I do need to be able to complete calls. It has become a real problem.
