Really dumb music download question

i've never been much into downloading music. I usually transfer music from my CDs to my MP3 player, but I have purchased some from Napster. Well, now that I have this fancy, does-everything-except-clean-the-bathroom Droid X, and my MP3 player is getting older, I'm putting more music on the phone. I found some apps in the Market ("Music Junk", "Mp3 Music Downloader", and "Top Songs by Year") and these allow me to download music for free. Is this okay/legal/safe? If so, how do I know if they are downloaded to the SD card, or how can I transfer them there. (Guess I could also use some info about file management on this phone too.)

Files downloaded from web defaults to SD Card >>> Downloads to be saved.... Now as for the apps that allow you to download music and files for free, the best thing to do is read the agreement that the app supplies because they will give you an ideal of what kind of arrangement they have with the industry to keep yourself legal.

I do know that Music Junk has a user's agreement at first use that states that you are supposed to delete downloads after you listen to them and I do know that that one is "safe". It does save music to the sd card (by default in a music folder, but that can be changed). To transfer music to your card via computer, you can plug in with the usb cord, pull down notification bar, find select to transfer to/from computer, then select turn on usb storage. I would suggest finding/creating a music folder on your sd card for storing music, but that's up to you. Also, don't forget to eject your phone before unplugging.

The guilt! The guilt! Okay...I've deleted the music-downloadiing apps, and deleted the few songs I downloaded. So, any suggestions for good music "stores"?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

There is that one preloaded on to your phone AmazonMP3.
Thanks Ann. I found it last night. It was one of those "annoying" pre-installed apps that I ignored.
