I woke up to three new icons on my homescreen which I want to delete immediately. The phone/arrow/contacts icons on my main screen look like the old Droid set-up and are frankly unnecessary. I want to remove this default immediately but cannot seem to find out to control my own display.

Hi, rdsuarez!
Can you please advise the OS/software version that was put into the phone? Go to 'Settings>About Phone>Baseband Version>and Firmware Version'
We have not had any software updates to the Droid 2, so I'll research this for you to see what customization options there may be for those icons.
Thank you and have a great day!

None of the Display setting options will change the icons that are showing or I should resort to completely deleting ALL my information from the phone? None of that is an actual solution.

rdsuarez- May I ask what 3 icons you have now? Have you installed any "theme" applications that may have changed the appearance of the Droid 2 buttons?
