Recovering Apps and Widgets after Factory Reset?

About the re-loading of Apps and Widgets after a factory reset:

Recently, I was having a slight lag problem with my Charge when playing movies purchased from the Media Hub or playing Angry Birds (which is CRUCIAL to my business!  :smileywink:  ).  I dropped by a Verizon corporate store, but unbeknownst to me, VZN has pulled all the techs out of the stores.  The sales guy suggested I do a factory reset  under the Privacy tab in Settings.  He assured me my SD card would not be affected (true), all my contacts would be restored from Google (true), and that all my downloaded Apps would be waiting for me at the App Marketplace (false).

After the factory reset (which really didn't cure the slight lag problem anyway), the only Apps that were listed under 'My Apps" in the Market Place (and at Amazon Apps) were apps/widgets I had paid for.  The free apps/widgets were not there.  Fortunately, I made a list of all my apps and widgets before the re-set, but it was still a bit of a pain to hunt them all down and reload them.

Just wondering if I did something wrong.  If not, I wanted to let everyone know what happened to me.  It took me a while to get the phone back to where I was before.

So, be careful with those Factory Resets.

And make a list of your Apps/Widgets before you do it!

I took screen shots of all my home screens and all pages of the app drawer just to be safe.  I haven't had to do a rest, but I wanted to be prepared.  This reminds me to do it again since I have added a few new apps.

Both good ideas.  I didn't even think about the screen shots.

I'm going to check out that app.
