Renaming Photos

I've renamed photos so that for example a photo that is named 12345.jpeg. is now named "John". However, since renaming it, it tells me that the file isn't found, and as a result, can't be opened. Is there an app or something that I can use in order to open the photos once they've been renamed?

jva9903,

Yes, you must keep the extent .jpg or .jpeg or whatever it was originally.

BUT, I still do not know how to change the name by overwriting the original name when the photo is still in the phone.  How did you do it OR did you do it while the photo was still in your PC?

Thanks,

JerryF

First, can you tell me how you renamed them?  I don't see how to do that when the photos are in the Charge root directory.

Second. did you keep the extent .jpg on the photo you renamed JOHN?

I renamed them just by overwriting the whole thing with the person's name. I guess I should have kept the jpg extension? For instance, I should have renamed it John.jpg instead of just 'John'? Is that what I'm doing wrong?

I downloaded Astro file manager and renamed it there.

jva9903,

I just discovered a (new to me) really great photo feature.

You got me going with your post.  Thanks for telling me about Astro File BUT I just found a better, and much easier, way to rename photos.  Try it you'll probably like it.  Here is what I did.

In your APPs that came with GB 2.3.6 touch My Files.  Go to and touch DCIM, then touch Camera to see your list of your photos.  Next,  whatever photo you want to rename touch it and HOLD your finger on it.  The choices that come up will show you a list of things you can do one of which is to Rename your photo.

BTW, this rename feature automatically keeps the .jpg extent on the newly named photo.

I love it when a plan comes together.  This is the best feature I've found in a month or two.

Thanks for getting me to take a LOOK/SEE as to what else I could do with a photo.  I find this VERY helpful!  What do you think?
