Replacement Droid X

Has been continuously rebooting. I got this about 2 weeks ago, and it has been doing so upon arrival.

I have factory reset it as well.

 

I was completely satisfied with the Droid X I purchased on release day. A few reboots, and no issues until the charging port stopped working. This one has rebooted atleast 20 times today, and last night it wouldn't not send calls or texts, nor would it recieve them.

Motorola has recognized this issue with the DROID X and has committed to resolving the matter with the next software release. Unfortunately, we do not have any information as to when this may become available.

Call Verizon, or go to a Verizon Store. Plenty of assistance available here in the forum, but you should contact Verizon.

I took mine to a Verizon dealer and he couldn't fix the problem so they sent me a second certified phone. I hope it last more than 48hrs.

my email my friends if any body help me this problem {edited for privacy} ihave  6 months with my droid x then my phone stop working i when to verizon store they sent me a replacement phone 2 days delivery i was in verizon store friday my phone came on tuesday  activate my phone right away so  thursday i sent back to verizon whorehouse i follow the steps the came in the box i follow the tracking number the day was the 24 last month when i sent the phone back so verizon still sent me emails the phone is not being delivery in the web site fed ex say the phone is been delivery and i call to verizon they tell me they ding receive  the phone when is not problem with fed ex april 21 i call to verizon they call to fed ex to fix those problems they say the phone is missing in fed ex whorehouse so bcs IM tire verizon still sent me emails they say they going charge the phone im waiting if the the bill verizon say they investigating this problem verizon charge the phone i will get lawyer to zzz verizon im clean i love verizon only the custumer service sucks

To be honest with all the devices that users have had replaced for what ever reason, I am surprised this hasnt been more if a issue with FedEx because they have a bad habit of just dropping items at doors and not even have anyone sign....  I had a simular incident from HP, the system reported a item was delevered to my house and the issue with that was I was at work when this happened and I live alone, after calling a friend and had him check my house learned that a 2000.00 laptop was dropped at my front door and the driver signed the bill.

 

FedEx reported that this is within the agreement of service with customer (HP), what the heck???

It all depends on the STATED value of the item.  If the shipper lists the item as being over $500 value FedEx will not release it without a signature.

 

As for Jose18, as long as the Tracking number entered the FedEx system you are fine and cannot be charged for the phone.  If the phone is lost while in transport it is FedEx responsibility to find or pay for the lost item.

I got a replacement droidx on friday night I had called thursday late and they expect it on mon because of the weekend and all but I was glad to receive it early even though it was in a box sitting on top of my steps when I got home from work. What are we supposed to do if this happens and we aren't the first ones to see the package I live in a busy area lots of walkers and open view of where the box was while I commend fast service I would have much rather had to go and pick up the phone if there is a chnce of of me being at fault if it dissapears before I get it.

Actually the statement wasn't directed completely to Fed-Ex delivery, it was speaking of the number of devices sent out and they more devices hasn't been misplaced...

my phone number {edited for privacy} so IM still have the same problem with the droid x lost in fedex store my phone was ship the 24 last month and now the tracking umber say is being pick up in oakland verizon don't wan clear the chargers for the phone they say wait to the phone arrive to facility so what i can do to fix this problem

You should open a ticket with the shipping company.  They are responsible if the item is lost in shipment.  Check to see what the package was insured for, that is the $$ the shipping company will have to pay out.

Jose, is Fed Ex saying that someone signed for the phone when it was received?

If you did not sign for it, I do not understand how they can hold you liable (charge you money for it).

Has anyone ever requested that Verizon ship a phone directly to the nearest Fed Ex store? Is that an option?

I have had phones shipped to me and hurried home knowing it could be sitting out in the open on the porch if Fed Ex dropped it without a signature.

It sounds like the issue Jose was having is that he sent back the broken phone and it's been lost by the shipper and never returned to VZW.

yesterday fedex call me they say are investigating because they can't not find the phone  so this days they will last notice

I am having the same problem with my Droid X.  I am on replacement 3 or 4.  I lose track.  Itlastedabout 6 hours before it froze up completely and rebooted.  I am extremely frustrated.  I paid top dollar for a brand new phone and the "refurbished" phone have been worse than my original.  This process is a complete waste of my time and Verizon's.  I cannot work with a phone that shuts down in the middle of a call (with a good charge) or opens a useless app when I try to open my contacts.  I have done the reboots and such.  I'm beginning to feel like an expert.  I even have the tech support number memorized now. So now tomorrow I must call again and wait for another used phone to arrive just to find out it doesn't work either.  US Cellular or AT&T is looking pretty good right now.

It sounds like an app may be causing your problems.... So I would like to suggest.....

 

If and when you get your next "used" phone, use it for a few days without downloading or installing any apps.  Then if your phone seams to be operating ok, start downloading the apps you want one at a time, and using the phone for a day or so before install your next app.   This will either rule out an app causing your problem or determine which app is causing your problem.
