Well, it's that time, my beloved Droid X is no more. I was an idiot and broke the warranty of my device (begins with an R, as a hint).
I figure I should celebrate the great times I had with my Droid, from the first boot, to his death just a couple hours ago, so let's send him off in style, shall we? *salute*
(What I'm trying to say, all melodrama aside, is that I broke the warranty on my Droid X because I'm an idiot, and now it's stuck in a boot loop that I can't seem to fix. Tried everything I could think of, nothing. Verizon store said no go ((how they knew the warranty was voided by my idiocy with the R word, I'll never know)), they wouldn't fix, or replace it. I offered money, they still said no. Needless to say, I'm sad, but I brought this upon myself. Doesn't mean I have to like it, does it? Anyway, I know I'm just a lurker, but these forums have been invaluable for me, so as I take my final bow, thanks, one and all for making it a grand adventure!)
Adios, mi amigos.

Alex you and your X are fine. Nothing is fried. you need to roll back to stock 2.1 and remove r--t. follow this instrucion set.
http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-help/4484-you-can-go-back-2-1-a-4.html you need to scroll down to M@lice post half way to the bottom.
Ive done it a million times.

I believe the tool he needs is RSD Lite and needs to reflash 2.2. If he has already updated to 2.2 then the radio has changed and there is no way currently to drop the radio down to the older radio if it's anything like the Cliq

youre right Tidbits, he will have to use RSD lite regardless. I don't think this official release .sbf file is available to flash with rsd right now. that's why i suggested reflashing 2.1 and then trying the OTA for 2.2

Yah if he already upgraded then his radio has been reflashed with it. If he tries and downgrade to 2.1 he could potentially break his device for good. He would need to wait for the sbf file.
