Returning an unshipped Droid Inc for the Droid X

Hi, I ordered a Droid Incredible at my verizon store using the "buy a moto droid, get an inc free" sometime around June 7, and they said it will not get to me until June 28. I still do not have my Droid Inc yet, and now they anounce the Droid X. My question is, will I be able to trade in my Inc for an X when July 15 comes around? And can I preorder an X while holding onto my Inc in the meantime so that I still have a phone to use?

You do have 30 days to try a phone!!! Not sure about the restocking fee if you do it that way since you got it "free". I have heard about ppl refusing shipment and not getting a restocking fee but I can not verfiy that! Hopefully a vzw rep can for you!!

Either way you can get the X if you return or refuse the Inc!! Good Luck!!!

Does anyone know if the 30 days you have to exchange the phone begins on the date of purchase? I too ordered my Incredible from a Verizon store on 6/7 and was promised a ship date of 6/22....still no phone. Anyway, if I want to exchange the Incredible does that mean that I only have until 7/7 to do so? Also if I refuse shipment and return the phone can I still get the new every 2 and new 2 year contract discount if I want to order the Droid X?

I have read on this forum that it is 30 days from activation!!!

If you do like me you shouldn't have to worry about a restocking fee... I ordered an incredible online on 6/10 and called today to cancel. They transferred me to online orders and put an order cancel through. I'll have my money back in a few days and will be ready to jump on a Droid X preorder as soon as it's available. Lets pray Motorola is more prepared than HTC...... Come on, NO WHAMMY NO WHAMMY........... :smileysurprised:

I don't think you will get to trade up with the free phone. It was a promotional phone deal. In this situation t is best to talk to the store you purchased from to get the best and final answer. Based on your details I would thank not though.

On the plus side I just got an answer from Verizon on the exchange question - you have 30 days from the time you receive your equipment to exchange your phone. On the downside, the Inc is backordered at least an additional 5 days past the promised ship date.

I was just told today if I active my Incredible (should be here tomorrow by 3pm!!) and decide I want the X the restocking fee is $35.
