How do I install a ringtone purchased from Verizon? It does not show up on the list of ringtones. I can only play it by selecting it separately in the txt message area. It is downloaded to my phone, but that does not install it in the ringtone list. The last time I purchased and downloaded a ringtone I spent 25 minutes on the phone with Verizon tech help while they researched how to install it. There must be a better way!

If the song is on the phone, open the music app, find the song, press and hold the file, and select save as ringtone in the menu.

If the sound file is downloaded to your phone, you should look on the sd card for a download or messages folder where it was saved. Once you have found it, use the instructions found in the link to put the tones the default place that phone will look for the files. Once the files are there, the ringtones will show up in you ringtone selection list.

If after looking, you can't find the file, it might mean the file hasn't been saved to the phone. Not sure of the exact steps, but try a long press of the file attachement in the text message. Then you would get a menu that should give the option to save audio.
hope this helps.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ok the song came to my phone in a text message. Doesn't that mean it's on my phone not on the sd card? Getting to it is easy. All I do is pick it out of my list of received text messages. I can play the song from there, but don't see how to get it to my ringtone list. Pressing on it does nothing but play it an increase the sound. I need to be guided through whatever I am supposed to do 'cause frankly I'm still lost. Thanks.

There is no link in the message. I received instructions from Verizon to use the link, but I can't use what they don't give me, or at least, what they claim to give me and I can't find. If I had a 12 year old in the house I wouldn't have this problem!!!!! Thanks.

I've followed these directions exactly, but the ringtone does not appear in my music. Any idea why?

My experience is thee same. Can not locate song after saving. I did notice a popup that said, "Song saved to phone memory"...but the music Icon wants to access the SD card. i can not find the ringtone.

This one works, thank you. Apple iPhone's ten times easier though!
