When I go into Sound Settings and click on Phone Ringtones I get error msg:
Sorry! The application Settings(process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try later.
What does it mean and how can I correct it.

Sounds like you have something causing the app to crash, does rebooting help any?
Try Safe mode also...
Safe Mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market. Performing this troubleshooting step is necessary to determine whether a 3rd party application is the cause of an Operating System / Application issue. Safe Mode should always be performed prior to a hard (factory) reset.
Enabling Safe mode
- Press and hold down the Power Key.
- Select Restart.
- Select Restart.
- When the HTC Logo screen appears, press and hold the Volume down key.
- Release the Volume down key when Safe Mode appears in the lower left.
May take up to 30 seconds.
Disabling Safe mode
- Press and hold down the Power Key
- Select Restart.
- Select Restart.

Restearting doesn't work.
And can't get into safe mode. Hold volume down key when HTC logo screen(with white background)?

Remember to hold it until you see the Safe Mode at bottom left... You should feel a long vibrate to indicate its entering Safe Mode.. You have to time it with the white HTC logo and hold until it boots with works in left corner.

Got into safe mode. Getting the same error msg.
Is bringing the phone to Verizon an option.

Thank you to the community for your responses.
Getting a error message when trying to change a ringtone is very frustrating. I'm constantly changing my ringtones so I can see how you will want to get this fixed right away. Did this start after receiving a ringtone in your messaging application? If so please delete and retry. Another option would be to clear the cache. Go to Menu>settings>manage applications>all> HTC sense>clear cache. If this doesn't fix the problem please try a hard reset. Make sure your device is backed up first though. Let me know if that helps, if not I will be happy to try some other things with you.
