Hello,

 

I'm new to the Droid Family and am trying to figure out if there is a way to setup different ringtones for different contacts.

Go into your contact list, select the contact you want, hit menu, then options.

Ok, I am not so new, but I am having trouble with this concept as well - I know how to assign ringtones to contacts, but I do not or cannot seem to figure out how to get new ringtones in to the list to allow me to add them to contacts - Can you not buy songs for ringtones with this phone? Just confused and curious :smileyhappy:

On your sd card there should be a folder named media, inside that, if you don't have it, create a folder named ringtones. Any songs you want as ringtones should be placed in here. This can also be done for alarms and notifications by creating the appropriate folders. If you search the market for "ringtones", you can find many apps that are basically databases of ringtones for you to download and normally these will place tones in the appropriate folder for you.
