Does anyone know how to set up the outbound e-mail config for the Droid X for a RoadRunner account? I can receive e-mails but not send them.

Make sure you have your "smtp-server..........." typed in correctly. You don't have a comma where a period should be and that you have a dash between smtp and server. If you can recieve you should be able to send..... It's got to be something simple..... something that makes you slap your forehead and say "Jeeeeezzzzeee" when you finally figure out what it is...... haha! (something I have done more than once, btw)
Good luck!!!

I believe it depends on the area where you live.
The smtp server for mine is smtp-server.roadrunner.com.
I have learned that it's better to have roadrunner forward my email to gmail and delete from the roadrunner server afterward.
That way I get my emails instantly instead of waiting for the set polling intervals in the regular email app.
Plus the regular email app doesn't provide an option to delete mail from the server, which means I had to log into roadrunner to clean up the mailbox.
Gmail can be set to send mail as your roadrunner account, that doesn't work if the ISP your sending to doesn't allow spoofing.
Then it says from your gmail account on behalf of your roadrunner account.

I've been using Port 587 with great success. Also, you should put in your own rr address, unless, of course, you do live in the Kansas City area. then it will be kc.rr.

I have tried all of the suggestions listed here in this string. None work. My next step is to go to a Verizon store to see what they can do. Thanks all fo the suggestions.

Hey! This worked! Thanks much for the info. I've never been able to send RR email from any device other than my computer while actually on the RR network.

I have not been able to send RR emails from ANY other service other than RR. From away I use an alternate email address (at gmail.com) which allows me to send and receive. But RR?? Never - anywhere.
