Hey, I'm trying to get outgoing email working for my wifes new Droid2. Incomming is working fine.
Yes, I've read: https://motorola-global-en-usa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/51804/relate d/1/session/L2F2LzE...
I understand roadrunner can only send if you are on their network, I'm at home connected to our wireless network.
My outgoing server setting are:
smtp-server.roadrunner.com (same as my desktop computer setting)
port 25 (same as my desktop, I've also tried 587 and 465)
username: my wife's "user" and tried "user@roadrunner.com"
password: my wife's
use secure connention: unchecked (I've tried checked)
verify certificate: unchecked (I've tried checked)
We're ex-Adelphia roadrunner in southern California. Our emails are _@roadrunner.com not _@_.rr.com. See http://help.rr.com/HMSFaqs/e_emailserveraddys.aspx?Topic=E-mail. I've always used smtp-server.roadrunner.com on my desktops.
Any help would be great!
Bob

Hey, found my own solution! Delete the account, re-boot, and re-set up the account.
FYI the settings are:
smtp-server.roadrunner.com
port 25
password
secure connection unchecked
verify unchecked
It seems to take 45 minutes to send.. it first notifies the send could not be authenticated, makes you think it's not sending... but if you wait..........
....
....
it eventually does send.
I assumed it would send when I pressed send, or at least every 15 minutes (some other setting I've seen elsewhere in messenging).

Bob! Your problem was the same as mine. But your solution is not working with the username user@roadrunner.com. Does the outgling server password remain the same as your incoming Pop server password?
I've tried everthing and I just can't get the right combo! Outgoing mail just won't authenticate on sending.
Have tried everything! Verizon won't help and neither will Time Warner. Can anyone please help me!

Brighthouse is sending out a technician who says he can handle the problem of sending and receiving my roadrunner emails. Mine stopped about a week ago. I went to Verizon and called Brighthouse twice. I will see if this tech knows more than they can tell me over the telephone. I once worked in our companys IT Department, so if I find out anything I will be sure to post.
