In the displa settings there is something called roaming banner, which is checked on. Does anyone know if it is important to have this checked on for the Droid X? Just curious if having it unchecked would help out with the battery life.

This has nothing to do with battery life at all. It simply provides a visual indication to you when you are roaming, ie: using a non-vzw tower. The difference in battery life with it on and off would be nearly impossible to tell.
