I've heard of quite a few people getting them replaced if they are within the 30 day's. Head to a store, worst they can say is too bad.
Fortunately I've not had to experience this just yet.

If you bought insurance you should be fine. If not, you may have a problem. Not Verizon's that you dropped the phone. Was it in a case?

How did you... But the glass... What did you drop it on, diamond? I am sure they will replace it if you within your 30. I would do it ASAP. But really, I don't see how you broke the glass. Its actually really strong considering there is not much protecting it once you take you the battery. Its pretty much all screen. I would be more concerned about dropping it and damaging the hardware under the screen.

What happened when you took the phone in?
I too dropped my phone and now have a big "spider web" like crack on the screen... the phone works fine though. Not sure they can repace the glass.

Luckily I have the insurance (for once)... so was able to get a replacement (still cost me $50)... did everything over the phone... I had talked to Motorola first... said I could get it fixed (unknown price) and I would have to send my phone in and turnaround time would be 5 to 7 days... said my best bet was to go through Verizon. The "warranty" doesnt cover damage if dropped... or if you get liquid on it (only covers defects).
HIGHLY recommend getting the cover/case for the Droid2... (which I hadnt done yet)... my phone dropped from my sweatshirt side pocket (walking dogs) and hit the pavement... like I said maybe 2 1/2 feet from the ground... think it just hit it just right. The phone did work fine just annoying have this big crack plus the glass was starting to break off.

i have the hard cover case for my droid 2 and it works wonders. im a klutz by nature and have dropped my phone to many times to count (at least 25) since i got it in september. i have dropped it down concrete steps and real tiled floors at work (just as hard as concrete) and carpet in the house and even spilt sweet tea on it (it was fine just a little sticky but easy enuf to clean up) and on fake tiled floors. so not only does the hard cover case keep the phone durable it also helps a little with spills. i highly recommend if you have a smartphone to get a hard cover case for it. from the phone company itself, cheaper online but at least with the store you are sure that case is designed specifically for that phone.
