SCREEN GOING WILD

I'm new to the forum but have had my droid x for 6-9 months.  At first, the battery kept dying - totally gone - several times a day.  I finally figured out that the case I bought from the verizon store was pressing on the buttons and draining the battery.  My son had the same type of case, but never had a battery issue.  I am not using a case at this time.

Here is my current problem:  Every now and then - nothing regular and no pattern to cause it - the screen will suddenly go wild with a mind of its own.  It will go from the home screen, sliding left and right, flashing apps, and totally ignoring me.  Sometimes, it will stop by itself and return to normal.  At other times, I have to pull the battery to stop it.  Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated!  Thank you!

Could be a "bad app" so to speak. Have you tried deleting your apps and seeing if that helps? If anything, write them all down on a piece of paper, delete them all, and if that fixes it, add them back one-by-one until you find the problem one. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause this.

my guess here is its an issue with your touch screen the case you had before probably put enough pressure on it to keep it awake and drain the battery and now when you touch it, its sensing multiple touch readings i would call customer service but you are probably due a new phone simply replacing your display is more than what insurance costs and i looks like you are under manufacturers warranty so take advantage before you hit 12 months

I will do this.  I pay the extra a month for insurance, so it should be covered.  Thank you for taking the time to help!

Am I right in saying this....I read somewhere here that if you full insurance on advanced devices it gives you a full 24 months under manufacturers warranty?

Another thing to take in consideration, if you have something that uses a large amount of memory or processor can cause this because the system will lag until the resources is freed enough to complete process..

Task Killer resolved this issue on my device with Advance Task Killer..  After excluding system files and required apps the TK closes the unused apps to restore the resources to the device.

Apps like this can cause issues if incorrectly used but it can help as well...

I did go through the apps thing, but that didn't help.  Thank you for taking time to help me!
