SD Card Freezes Droid X

When starting up Droid X, system says "checking SD card for problems" and freezes all operations and keeps rebooting.  Droid only works when I remove the SD card.  I've tried connecting droid to computer  via USB, but it keeps freezing on me and not allowing me to access SD card.  Any solutions on how to fix this before I bring it in to Verizon?

Remove SD Card and place it into a card reader on a PC and see if it reads, if it does then format the card and then place it back in device and if card isnt goone it should be good.

My Droid X does the same.  It works fine w/o the SD card. I am able to access the SD card using my reader and am in the process of copying all the data off it (10 of 16 gigs used).

Any idea what is the problem if the SD card is readable?

Thanks.

(I will eventually reformat the SD card and reinsert.  Will update with results of that after done and then if possible, after readding some data.)

Also, my phone has been crashing a lot lately anyway... particularly when using Google Maps.

Most cases like this there is a corrupt file on the SD card.  After you format the SD card and if it tests okay when put back in your phone, add the folders back on one at a time and reboot the phone.  When you find it doesn't reboot you know you found the folder with the bad file.

Sounds like maybe a SD card problem.  Do you have another to try?

If not, sounds like a trip to Verizon is in your future.....

Good luck,

Edit:  Yes try what wildman said...... (you gotta be fast around here to get in before him...... haha!)
