SD Card

i woke up and my SD card was no longer recognizable by my Droid X.  Said unsupported format.  Just as a test i took my moms Droid X and inserted her SD card into my phone - recognized fine.  I went down to the local Verizon store and without even looking at my phone they gave me a number to san disk and told me i needed to contact them. I got on the chat support with sandisk only to find the sd card shipped in my Droid X is not a sandisk.  They instructed me to contact Verizon again.  Has anyone else had this issue?

Did you reboot the phone? If that fixes it, it is well known issue that many have reported; and some (me) seldom experience it.  Seems like for whatever reason the phone will intermittently "lose" the SD card. A reboot of the phone usually fixes the situation for a while. We're all hoping that the next fix release addresses this.

... or are you saying that your SD Card is no longer being recognized even after a reboot? If so,  have you tried to reformat the card?

very strange ...  since the other SD card worked, it's apparently (now) a corrupted card.  if this is under warranty, I would pressure Verizon to replace it.

Try to reformat the SD Card.

This procedure will erase all data on the memory card. It is recommended to back up the data.

  1. Ensure the device is not connected to a PC via the USB cable.
  2. From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).

  3. Touch Settings.

  4. Touch SD card & phone storage.

  5. Touch Unmount SD card.

  6. Touch Format SD card.

  7. Touch Format SD card.

  8. Touch Erase everything.
