SORT OF MY CONTACTS

I have more than 500 contacts. In Google I have them sorted by last name, but when they were downloaded to my Droid X, they were sorted by first name.

How can I sort them by last name ?

This has been discussed several times, it has been verified that there isnt any way to change the contact sorted info on the device.
