I noticed about 2 or 3 days ago my phone wouldn't let me use the menu key anymore. it would only bring up google search. Last night it got to the point i was trying to figure out what was wrong. So i took the battery out hoping it would fix it. it didn't. It put my phone in safe mode and now its stuck there. I've tried putting it back to factory settings. I just got the phone like 2-3 weeks ago. And i really don't want to get a new one because "new" really means "refurbished" and after spending $300 on a phone i'm not to happy about getting someones old messed up phone. I also have tried the whole shut the phone off, hold menu and power. hit search. and that didn't work either. So today when i got to work i played with it some more...and now i figured i'd try and let the phone reboot itself. So its going on 4 almost 5 hours of my phone just sitting on the motorola screen. if anyone has any other suggestions or ideas pleaseee help!
Thanks! ![]()

If it's now stuck on the MOTO screen, not much choice but to pull the battery - wait 30 secs and try it again. If that STILL doesnt' work, you could do a factory refresh: Hold the HOME button, power up while holding. It *SHOULD* come up with a yellow triangle thing. You use the volume controls then to go up and down thru the menu. Use the Camera button to SELECT an option then. One of the ite,s will be "reset", or something. I've personally never had a need to do this. But the menu items should be self explanatory. I think one of them is also CLEAR all CACHE, which might be the 1st thing to try, then RESET/REFORMAT after that.
Good luck. Let me/us know what the outcome is or if that doesn't work either. If that's the case, time to take to Verizon.
EDIT ;; OK, I just tried that and all I get is the Yellow Icon, no options ... hmmm... I'll try to figure this out unless oters are able to step in here and help.

OK, got it ...
- Press and Hold the HOME button
- Power up phone
When you get the yellow triangle with "!" in the middle, Press (once) the SEARCH button (far right button). That will bring up a blue menu screen. Now use the Volume controls to go down/up thru the menu items. Press the Camera button to SELECT the option you want. Try to CLEAR CACHE first and see if that does anything... Otherwise, REFORMAT. (you will have everything on the phone's physical storage reset to factory. Your data on the SD card should be fine.)
Good luck.

Battery Pull
This is just what it implies, you remove to battery while device is still powered on because device locks up and does not respond to user interactions like sreen touch ot battery press..
Hard Reset: - Removes all personal data and sets device back to the stock state when you bought device...
1. Uncheck "Back up my data" under Settings/Privacy
2. Click Factory Data Reset/Reset Phone
3. After reset is complete only Active Phone but do not input Google Email information
4. Once phone is at homepage go back into Settings/Privacy and make sure the Automatic Restore option is unchecked, even if grayed out, activate "Back up my data" and quickly disable "Automatic Restore"
5. After being sure that the Automatic Restore option is off it will be safe to log into Google and you can continue installing preferred apps and custom settings.
Boot in Recovery Mode Wipe: - Wipes system configuration settings and loads default settings but keeps personal data saved on system, normally used to recover from a none boot status without loosing personal data. There is times that Personal Data gets wiped also with this process..

1. Hold Home Button and press power
2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with astrick
3. Let Go of Home Button and Power
4. Press Search Button (Far Left Button)
5. A blue menu will show at top of page, scroll to Format Device
6. Select Yes to verify
7. Allow format to complete (Information at bottom of page will go through a few steps)
8. Once Format is complete Blue Menu will show at top again, select Reboot
Note: Use volume up and down to select opinion and use camera button as Enter,,,
