Hello,
My Moto Droid... I love this phone, it's amazing, but recently the screen stopped working. Luckily I have insurance, but I felt a few buzzes in the process... I know I have some text messages but I don't know who by what the messages contain! is there any way to few these text messages? It's really bothering me, esp because I get a little over the top sometimes. I feel there may be an important message in there that I will regret not seeing. I hate the feeling, is there any way to recover these texts? Oh, and the reason I know my phone works is that the buzzes go, and I answered my phone when I called myself on my Skype number (I know where to slide to answer without seeing anything on the screen). Oh, I also have some photos I would love to recover. They are recoverable in other methods, but they are from my old phone and I'd rather not dig that out if I don't have to. Thanks in advance to any help, it's really appreciated! And for the record, I wish I had the droid X... at least then I'd have HDMI.... kinda makes me wish I had an iPhone because of the cable variety, but at the same time, I'm a droid fan and hate ATT with a passion, so don't get me started haha. Anyways, all help is much appreciated, thanks! Oh, and I have the 2.2 update with the Moto Droid original and have USB cables to it if needed, thanks!

I have the same problem with mine yesterday. No screen at all. Phone works perfectly, but cant see a thing but a black screen. This is my 2nd Moto Droid that has done this in 15 months.
I went down to Verizon, who after a 2 hour wait for technical support, informed me it's broken. No kidding. They dont make the original Droid anymore so they are replacing it with a Droid 2. (Which makes sense since I broke 2 Droid 1's) .... The Droid dont do and they cant make it does. I told them I would rather downgrade to something else. Nope, no can do you got a Droid your stuck with it. Fine whatever, give me a Droid 2 and let me get out of here. Nope, cant do that either... They have to order it and have it shipped to my house. So I am completely phoneless from Tues until Thursday. Do I get credit for this major inconvience of no phone, nope....
I had the Iphone for 3 years, and I loved it as much as I hated ATT. Took me a long time to switch to Verizon, because of how much I loved the Iphone. Im truly sorry I did and in 9 months I will be back to my Iphone and ATT. I'd rather deal with ATT, who's phone at least worked than Verizon where I dont even have a phone at all and Im paying for NOTHING/

Honestly, mine's broken from my own fault. But hey man, that's messed up what they did to you. But hey, if ya switch, at least you'll get good internet speeds! xD Verizon has embarrassing internet speeds... it's a **bleep** joke! It use to be blazing fast but they are too ignorant to admit their speeds SUCK. But hell, I bet VZW users get some special code for dedicated speeds, so hell if they'd care lol... I almost went to the iPhone because of video calling though. Why the hell is Motorola wasting their time on **bleep** like an HDMI plugin? And nice... we have an 8mbpx camera but... still no vid calling? Really? Wanna know why? Because it would take too much bandwidth, like hell if Verizon would let that happen haha. I dunno man, if I wasn't stuck with VZW, I'd do the same probably. I kinda want the Droid 2 but... I wish it had **bleep** the iPhone promises... oh well, that's what I get... **bleep** contract, go away! 😧 Oh well, if I'm forced to upgrade, the Droid 2 is a lot faster, it won't be that bad, trust me man. But agreed, haven't exchanged yet. I'm dieing with no phone and it's only been like 2 or three days! When I get my new phone I'm gonna get like 30missed calls... Anyways, still no answer, do any staff even read these forums? Or is this completely community driven? Haha, Verizon's phone support is good, but I guess you can't say the same about their web support can ya?

You can recover who text messaged you online at https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login
Once you sign in online select view bill on the right side under your balance. The next screen will allow you to select the month the text came in. After you select the month, on the right hand side of the month you will see view and print bill. Under the view and print bill link click data details to access the messaging details. Messaging details only go back three months. You will not be able to see the actual conversation on the message detail, you can only see the number that texted you.
