Screen blacks after dialing

Second certified phone and same problem. Make a call and unless you are on speaker the screen goes black without putting it to your ear. The only way to see the screen is to open the slide. Top and bottom buttons do not light it up and its not timing out, It goes black immediately. Is it me or did I receive a second junk certified phone from VERIZON!

My phone does that as well. There was talk about this awhile ago,but I can't seem to find the thread now. :smileysad:  You may want to try to do a search yourself to see if you can find it. I know there was a solution in there

Do you have a plastic screen protector on your phone?  If so, did you make sure you placed the notches in the upper right hand corner and did not cover the sensor?  It sounds like that might be covered and that is why the screen goes black so fast.  it really shouldn't be a problem - just hit the power button on the top of the phone to get the screen back on.

I think I would rather have this problem, then the screen NOT turning off and your cheek/ear constantly pushing buttons or activating other functions...

Third certified phone will arrive today (Saturday) before noon. Will the screen go black? Odds are it will. Also did you see android central. The Motorola droid is now on the short list. Go figure! O yea there is fed ex at my door and its only 10:10 am. Now that's what Iam talking about.
