Screen blanks out during phone calls

Screen goes blank during call , how do you hang up from call when done?

My Droid does that too - I believe it's a way to protect you so that your face doesn't accidentally touch the phone while you're using it.  Doesn't the screen come back when you pull the phone away from your face?  If not, did you try hitting the power switch - maybe your Droid is going in to sleep mode while you're using the phone?

if you notice just to the left of the phones receiver you will see a dot.  that detects light. so when you press it against your face, the screen turns off. i use to think that the accelerator did that but it is indeed the dot. just pull the phone away from your face and the screen should turn back on. if not, you should wipe down that area, maybe too much gunk

I read about this in another forum. In that case, the screen timed out and locked. The solution was to push the power button to wake the phone and unlock the screen, I believe. It's an issue that will be addressed in the December software update.
