Screen goes dark when listening to voice mail

My Droid Charge Screen always goes dark when listening to voice mail. if i want to delete or end the call, or go to speaker phone I can't do so by using the touch screen. It also goes black when I am on a call and if I want to activate or deactivate speaker phone I can't. sometimes I lose calls because of this. any way to keep the screen illuminated while on calls or voice mails?

Sorry to hear about your Droid Charge device not functioning properly. It drives me crazy when technology does not work the way it is designed to, so lets get this fixed! Have you tried running your device is safe mode http://bit.ly/n2EIBZ  or a master reset http://bit.ly/w21WpW?
