Screen shuts off when looking at it: NOT TIMING OUT

This problem is not a screen timeout problem.

My wife has a new Droid Ultra within the last 11 days. She will wake the phone number, unlock it, and pull down her notifications all within a couple seconds and then the screen will shut off.

She then has to press the power button again to wake it up and unlock it.

It's not a screen timeout issue because it's set to two minutes and it happens within seconds of waking up the phone. sometimes she's even scrolling around on the screen when it happens.

I have the same problem, usually when the phone is flat on my desk.

We have 2 droids Both same. His did the same thing. If he re starts it it will stay one. But soon falls back into the pattern of shutting off in 5 secs. Mine does not do it. thankfully

I have no clue why. But all I know is his screen broke and we get to pay the lovely deductible for a new one. ( eye roll ) I am sacred to death now to bump mine

This should really be a recall with as many as I have seen on the internet doing this.

Maybe Verizon will chime in ?
