Search button works even when the phone is locked

Does anyone else have this problem? With the phone locked, but the screen is still on, if you hold down the search button for a few seconds and then say something, the voice search will run. When you unlock the phone, you will see the results of the search. This does not happen when the screen is off however.

I just tried it and nothing happens for me.  I held it down for a few secs, spoke a word to search, unlocked the screen and nothing.  Does it happen everytime you do this?

yep, it happens everytime. it consistently works.... or is consistently broke? however you want to look at it :smileyhappy:

That is weird ...have you tried doing a Factory Data Reset? (I know I know ...shouldn't have to resort to such measures)

So, I am gonna say it has to be a bug because I just did a Factory Data Reset last week to fix an issue with Text Messaging locking up on me.

i did a couple factory resets when i first got the phone a few days ago...

 

i wonder if this is something thats fixed with froyo...
